The Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame was originally founded in 1999 by former Tropics bassist, Charlie Souza. The current Board of Directors consists of Charlie Souza, Keith Wilkins, Ted Webb, Joe Lala, A. Paul Johnson, Richard Garland, Douglas Cifers, and Sally Rosen.

The purpose of the Tampa Bay Music Hall of Fame is to honor and recognize Tampa Bay Area musicians & songwriters, young and old, including related music industry professionals, writers, D.J.s, producers and promoters who have made a contribution to music in the Tampa Bay Area!
